Poets&Quants MBA Watch | Mr. Rural Ed To International Business

I taught 8th Grade English for two years in rural North Carolina, then spent two years at the U.S. Department of Education in higher education policy. I am matriculating at the School of Advanced International Studies at Johns Hopkins this Fall, with the hope of obtaining a dual degree with one of their MBA partner programs the following year.

I’m not sure if what I’m saying comes off as too vague, but I’d love to understand more of what could be improved in my profile. As a dual-degree seeker, I’m a somewhat unorthodox MBA watch profile, and I’m not sure if that inhibits my profile’s overall assessment worth. I’m hoping not, so I thought I’d see what people here think could happen.

– Selected from a competitive pool of applicants into TFA’s Teaching Corps (7% acceptance rate).
– Led team in the oversight of 14B in government aid to 5,000 colleges and universities.
– Accepted with Dean’s Scholarship to Johns Hopkins SAIS.

Attempting to triple jump into international business, with sights set on post-MBA consulting before moving into a multinational management position.
