Marketing Institute of Ireland Launches Global Marketing Leadership Programme

The Marketing Institute of Ireland (MII) has launched its new corporate strategy, aimed at strengthening the profession and helping business leaders to achieve superior performance while positioning Ireland as a global hub for marketing expertise.

The strategy is the culmination of 12 months of industry engagement and collaboration with stakeholders across Ireland and includes the launch of a new Global Marketing Leadership Programme, developed in partnership with the University of California, Berkeley.

The programme will provide marketers with the skills required to drive business performance in an era of profound, rapid change, and more generally the strategy aims to strengthen marketing as a ‘key value creator’.

‘We are thrilled to be announcing our partnership with UC Berkeley. The skillsets for marketeers are fundamentally changing,’ MII said in a statement.

‘The new programme shows our commitment to providing quality, innovative, business-informed, applied education and lifelong learning that is respected by employers and highly-sought after by marketers at all stages of their careers.

‘Under our new strategy we will provide the best learning opportunities for the current and next generation of marketing leaders and be a part of the career journeys of all marketing professionals, from new graduates, to CMOs and CEOs.’

MII added that it is critically important for marketing to be acknowledged for the significant and tangible value it brings businesses and customers and that the strategy had a ‘clear focus’ on skills, education, lifelong learning and digital transformations.

‘Our partnership with MII offers us the unique opportunity to work with outstanding Marketing experts in Ireland,’ UC Berkeley associate dean for academic affairs Frederick T. Wehrle said.

‘We share the ambition to empower CMOs to lead Digital Transformation in their organisations, and we decided to design a trailblazing programme that combines consumer-centric marketing with data-driven business and agile leadership.’
